Men's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker to Texas A&M-Texarkana

            Conway, Ark. – Playing at Centennial Soccer Park for the first time this season, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Eagles of Texas A&M-Texarkana this afternoon. CBC (3-1) was tied 1-1 at the half, took a second half lead and dropped the contest in the last 20 minutes, falling 3-2 to TAMUT (1-2).

            Daniel Mondragon and Cameron Gordon had the goals for CBC while Gordon also posted an assist with Callum Bisset notching two of his own. Jasper Gadellaa made four saves in net while playing all 90 minutes.

            Mondragon gave CBC the lead in the sixth minute when Bisset served in a free kick, Gordon headed it down and Mondragon knocked it in for the 1-0 score line. The Eagles would tie the game in the 10th minute and neither team capitalized on an opportunity for the rest of the half. Gordon would give CBC the lead again in the 60th minute when he was able to head in a free kick from Bisset to make it 2-1. Goals from the Eagles in the 70th minute and 86th minute on a 10-man Mustang squad made the difference in the match.

            Next up for CBC is a return to Centennial Park on Monday for a matchup with the Warriors of Bacone College. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. and links to coverage can be found on cbcmustangs.com.
