Multiple Records Fall In CBC Win Over Bacone

            Muskogee, Okla. – Central Baptist College soccer set a new record for the most goals scored in a match this afternoon as they took on the Warriors of Bacone College on the road. CBC (1-6) scored 16 goals, including 10 in the first half, and cruised to a 16-0 win over BC (0-7).

            The 16 goals were the most ever in a match by four. Three teammates, Chris Orellana, Marcos Pires and Jesse Garcia all netted hat tricks, while Miguel Becerra had three assists.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • The 16 goals were the most in a match ever and the most in a match for CBC since scoring 10 against St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2016
  • The previous record of 12 goals in a match happened twice, first on Sept. 18, 2010, against St. Louis Christian College and the second on Oct. 15, 2011, against Crowley's Ridge
  • Orellana, Pires and Garcia became the first teammates ever to record a hat trick in the same match
  • Pires completed his hat trick in 22 minutes and became just the fourth player ever to record a hat trick, and the fifth occurrence
  • Orellana completed his hat trick in 32 minutes, becoming the fifth player ever to record a hat trick and the sixth occurrence
  • Garcia had goals in the 39th, 44th and 61st minutes to complete his hat trick, the sixth player ever to do it and the seventh occurrence of a hat trick in program history
  • Jesus Lemus recorded the most recent hat trick prior to this game, Oct. 12, 2020, vs. UHSP
  • Becerra became just the second player in program history to have three assists in a match joining Ferdinand Matebu, who accomplished the feat Sept. 27, 2014, vs. Ozark Christian
  • The hat tricks were the first ever recorded on the road, as the previous four had all happened at home
  • CBC moved to 74-7-2 all-time when scoring at least three goals in a match and 1-1 this season
  • Tyler Norris recorded his first career win and first career shutout
  • Andrea Migliozzi scored a pair of goals in the match as well
  • Single goals were scored by Callum Bisset, Maynor Sandoval, Carlos Beltran, Dan Mondragon and Jonathan Cepeda
  • Bisset had two assists while Orellana, Pires, Sandoval, Beltran, Cepeda, Nyasha Dube and Jesus Avila all had a single assist
