#MustangsWin! Mustangs Snap Skid and Sweep Eutectics
Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director
St. Louis, Mo. – Looking to stop a two-game losing skid, Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Eutectics of UHSP tonight in an American Midwest Conference contest at UHSP Gymnasium. CBC (7-13, 4-4 AMC) never trailed, leading by as many as 23 in a 77-68 win over UHSP (3-17, 0-7 AMC) to sweep the season.
Tyler Johnson led the way for CBC with a season-high 25 points. MacArthur Reed, Jr., chipped in with 15, Caleb Knight finished with 12 and Derek Magwood had 11. CBC outshot UHSP 46 percent to 40 percent from the field and made eight more free throws while also being plus-six on the glass.
GAME FLOW
Magwood opened the scoring with a layup 2:04 into the game and, following a tie at 10 and a tie at 13, a layup by Keshun Brown with 11:21 to go in the first half gave CBC the lead for good, as they carried a 42-26 lead into the break and led 54-31 with 14:18 left before watching the lead dwindle to five, 58-53, with 6:03 to play. That's as close as the Mustangs allowed it to get as they went 14-16 down the stretch at the free throw line, with layups mixed in, to win for the second time in 2026.
