Kohnke, Harding Headline Men's Basketball Awards

            St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference announced their men's basketball awards today prior to the opening game of the AMC Tournament. CBC earned two major awards and had a record six players selected to the various all-conference teams, headlined by AMC Coach of the Year Sam Kohnke and Sixth Man of the Year Kyle Harding.

            Kohnke led the Mustangs to a 22-6 record in the regular season, an 11-0 record at home and a 12-2 record in the AMC. He is the first coach to win Coach of the Year in men's basketball for the Mustangs after they won the outright AMC regular season championship for the first time in program history.

            Harding earned third-team honors as well as his sixth man selection. He averaged right at 10 points per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 33 percent from three while grabbing 3.0 rebounds and handing out 1.6 assists per game.

            Deshawn Corprew earned first team honors. He averaged a team leading 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game with 1.6 assists per game as well, shooting 46 percent from the field, 39 percent from three and 76 percent at the free throw line.

            Sage Borbon earned a second team selection from the conference. He was the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 14.3 points per game while leading the team in assists per game at 3.0. He lead the conference in free throw attempts and shot 42 percent from the field and 33 percent from three for the season.

            Jonas Carlisle was also named to the third team. Carlisle averaged 10.1 points per game on 49 percent shooting from the floor and 73 percent from the foul line while leading the team in steals with 44 while finishing second in blocked shots with 22.

            Devin Foster earned an All-Defensive Team selection. He was the AMC leader in blocked shots with 45 and had one of the best seasons in that category in program history, helping led the Mustangs to a single-season program record in blocks that is ongoing. He also finished with 23 steals.

            Savaughn Smith earned an All-Freshman Team selection. He made 12 starts in 25 contests and averaged 4.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while playing the seventh most minutes on the team with 415.

            The Mustangs tip the AMC Quarterfinals presented by Tandem HR tonight at 7 p.m. against UHSP.
