St. Louis, Mo. – Looking to bounce back from their first American Midwest Conference loss of the season on Thursday night, Central Baptist College men's basketball was inside the Petty Student Recreation Center this afternoon for a matchup with the Spartans of Missouri Baptist. CBC (22-6, 12-2 AMC) struggled shooting and dropped the finale 84-75 to MBU (19-9, 10-4 AMC).
Kyle Harding led five Mustangs in double figures scoring with 17 while Devin Foster and Sage Borbon both had 13, Jonas Carlisle added 12 and Deshawn Corprew had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. CBC shot just 38 percent from the field, 31 percent from three and 46 percent at the free throw line while also dropping the battle on the glass 51-45 and committing 15 turnovers to forcing just 10.
CBC will be the #1 seed in next week's American Midwest Conference Tournament presented by Tandem HR. The regular season champion Mustangs will host the UHSP Eutectics in the quarterfinals on Thursday night with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. You must purchase tickets in advance and the ticketing link is on the schedule tab of the men's basketball page at cbcmustangs.com!
