#MustangsWin! CBC Dominates AMC Opener Against UHSP

St. Louis, Mo. – Opening the American Midwest Conference portion of their schedule on the road, Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis tonight inside the UHSP Gymnasium. CBC (4-2, 1-0 AMC) led for over 36 minutes and dominated in every aspect of the game, cruising to an 87-65 win over UHSP (0-4, 0-1 AMC).
Brevin Brimble led three Mustangs in double figures scoring while Tomas Mikyska barely missed out on a double-double. The keys to victory for CBC were rebounding and turnover margins, both of which the Mustangs capitalized on.
GAME NOTES
- CBC is now 16-1 all-time against UHSP
- Brimble had 18 points on 6-8 from the field and 4-5 from three
- Gabe Johnson posted a career-high 15 points on 6-10 from the field and 3-4 from three in his first start of the season
- Blake Bradshaw posted a season-high 10 points in his first start of the season
- Mikyska led in rebounding, grabbing 10 and also finished with nine points
- CBC used dominant first half shooting (55 percent from the field, 62 percent from three) to move to 4-1 when leading at halftime this season
- CBC won the battle on the glass 40-30 and forced 25 UHSP turnovers, a +7 margin
- The Mustangs had 28 points off turnovers and outscored UHSP's bench 32-19
- CBC led by as many as 28 with 11:11 left in the contest, and only trailed early in the contest

CBC steps back out of conference play on Tuesday night when they return to Arkansas for a renewal of a rivalry with Philander Smith. Tipoff from Mims Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m. and this will be the first time playing the Panthers since February 22, 2011.
