Mustangs Open Cajun Collision

            Sterlington, La. – Playing in the premier regular season tournament in the NAIA, Central Baptist College baseball opened play today in the Cajun Collision against LSU-Alexandria and the University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma. CBC (2-2) dropped both games, falling 5-2 to LSUA before losing 10-4 to USAO in the nightcap.

GAME ONE – LSU-ALEXANDRIA 5, CBC 2

            LSUA took a 1-0 lead in the second and the score remained that way until the fourth inning when a groundout by Aaron Prince tied the game. LSU struck for four runs in the fifth to make it 5-1 before CBC scored their final run on an error in the seventh.

GAME TWO – USAO 10, CBC 4

            USAO scored three in the first, four in the third, two in the fifth and one in the seventh for their runs. CBC scored two in the first on a double by George Astacio and an error that allowed Prince to come home. The other runs for CBC came in the fourth when Ryan Dauphinee doubled and then was chased home on the next at bat by a Brayden Mayencourt single to round out the scoring.

UP NEXT

            The Mustangs play a pair of games again tomorrow at the Cajun Collision. First pitch against Texas A&M-Texarkana is scheduled for 11 a.m. and first pitch against Mid-America Christian is slated for 2:30 p.m.
