O'Fallon, Mo. – After forcing a winner-takes-all championship game in the American Midwest Conference tournament yesterday, Central Baptist College baseball took on the Missouri Baptist Spartans today for the lone automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round from the AMC. CBC (38-15) scored early, but couldn't keep up with the MBU (39-10-1) offense, dropping the title game 10-1.
CBC got on the board first in the first on a sac fly by Austin Teal to take a 1-0 lead. MBU tied it in the bottom half then scored three in the third, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the eighth. CBC mustered only six hits and none for extra bases.
The Mustangs will find out if they will continue on in the postseason on Thursday when the NAIA reveals the selections for the Opening Round at 4 p.m. on their YouTube channel.
