#MustangsWin! CBC Sweeps Season Series From Crowley's Ridge!
Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director
Paragould, Ark. – Playing their fourth game in as many days (following a day off yesterday), Central Baptist College baseball was at Pioneer Park this afternoon for a matchup with the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers in the final meeting between the two teams before CRC joins the American Midwest Conference in July. CBC (22-9) run ruled CRC (6-17) again, winning 13-1 over the Pioneers.
Ruben Hernandez started the scoring in the first with a sac fly to make it 1-0. Three runs would cross the plate in the second thanks to a double by Ryan Dauphinee, a single by Chett McDaniel and a single by starting pitcher Cade McBride. Hernandez drove in his second run of the game in the fourth to make it 5-0, which was followed by a two-run pinch-hit single by Ayden Qualls to make it 7-0 before Jacori Hicks clubbed his second home run of the season, a two-run blast, to make it 9-0 after four. The Pioneers would get their lone run in the fifth before CBC rounded out the scoring in the sixth thanks to a groundout by Hicks, a two-run single by Austin Teal and a wild pitch that scored Teal. McBride earned his second win of the season, throwing five innings and scattering six hits with one unearned run and a career-high eight strikeouts. Brennan Duhe pitched the final two innings, allowing nothing and striking out two.
