#MustangsWin! CBC Sweeps UHSP To Move Winning Streak To Four!

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

St. Louis, Mo. – Looking to secure their first series sweep this weekend, Central Baptist College baseball was at Stars Park for the finale of their American Midwest Conference matchup against the Eutectics of UHSP. CBC (20-7, 5-1 AMC) pounded out 11 runs on 11 hits to beat UHSP (7-15, 1-5 AMC) 11-2 and sweep the series!

UHSP jumped on the board first in the first with a run scoring single to make it 1-0 after one. CBC tied the game in the second on a Luke McBride single and then took the lead in the fourth when Ruben Hernandez clubbed a grand slam for his second home run of the season to make it 5-1. A single tally in the fourth for the Eutectics made it 5-2 after four and the Mustangs blew the game open late, scoring on an RBI single by Jaxon Kirkhuff in the sixth to make it 6-2 before putting up a five spot in the eighth for the rest of their runs, thanks to a sac fly by Kirkhuff, an RBI single by Danilo Taborda, a wild pitch and a two-run single by Austin Teal. Dylan Parton secured his fourth win of the season, pitching eight innings and scattering seven hits while allowing just two runs (one earned) with four strikeouts. Rhett James struck out two in a perfect ninth inning.
