McBride Earns All-Conference Honors, Three Earn Gold Gloves

St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference announced their postseason baseball all-conference and gold glove teams earlier this evening at the pre-AMC Tournament banquet. Luke McBride was the lone Mustang to receive All-Conference recognition while he joined Steven Stewart and Danilo Taborda on the gold glove team.
McBride earned second-team honors from the AMC. In 47 games he batted .311 with 31 runs scored, eight doubles, 27 RBIs, 11 bases on balls and 10 stolen bases. Additionally, he was the top fielding shortstop in the conference, posting a fielding percentage of .965 while being a part of 16 double plays.
Stewart earned a gold glove for the second time in his career, after also earning one two years ago. He posted a fielding percentage of .989 on the season and turned a team-leading 18 double plays.
Taborda had the second-highest caught stealing rate of any catcher in the AMC, throwing out 35 percent of the runners that tried to steal against him. He also handled 126 errorless chances on the season.
Congratulations to these guys on their outstanding seasons! The Mustangs begin play tomorrow in the AMC Tournament at 1 p.m. against Hannibal-LaGrange at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Ill.
