St. Louis, Mo. – Having already scored 28 runs in the first two games of the series, Central Baptist College baseball looked for a sweep today against Harris-Stowe State in the finale of their American Midwest Conference series at Hornets Field. CBC (20-24, 7-11 AMC) scored three touchdowns and a field goal to beat HSSU (6-32, 2-16) 24-17.

The 24 runs scored is the second most in a single game all-time and Austin Teal led the way with four hits and five RBIs. The Mustangs scored three in the second, six in the third, one in the fourth, eight in the fifth, three in the seventh and three in the ninth for their runs, while also rushing for 200 yards and passing for three touchdowns with a field goal. The defense held Harris-Stowe to 50 yards rushing and 150 yards passing, but they scored on a pick six and a fumble return with a field goal as well.

CBC wraps up the regular season next week with a three-game series against William Woods at UCA's Bear Stadium. First pitch of Thursday's doubleheader is slated for noon.
