#MustangsWin! Baseball Completes Season Sweep of Crowley's Ridge!

Paragould, Ark. – Stepping out of American Midwest Conference play for a midweek contest, Central Baptist College baseball was at Pioneer Park today for a nine-inning contest with the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College. CBC (15-19) posted season highs in hits and runs, ending the contest against CRC (11-16) in a run-rule 21-4 win.

CBC scored in every inning except the third inning and had six extra base hits amongst their season-high 22 knocks. The 22 hits is tied for the third most all-time while the 21 runs are the third most all-time and marks just the seventh time ever that CBC has scored 20 or more runs in a game. CBC used six pitchers in a bullpen day with the win going to Jaxon Kirkhuff, who threw two scoreless innings to start the game.

CBC scored five in the first inning, thanks to a double from Steven Stewart, a single from Gabe Walker, a sac fly by Kirkhuff and a two-run home run by Gage Harris, the first of his career. Another Walker RBI, this time a double, made it 6-0 in the seventh and an RBI single by Stewart made it 7-0 in the fourth. CBC would push eight runs across the plate in the fifth on an error, a two-run single by Luke McBride, who tied a record with five runs scored, a single by Stewart, a single by Walker, and another error to make it 15-0 after four-and-a-half. All four of CRC's runs scored in the fifth to make it 15-4 after five before CBC tacked on two more in the sixth on a double by Nick Aide and a single by Stewart and they rounded out the scoring in the seventh with four runs courtesy of a single by McBride and a three-run home run by Josh Nowotny, the first of his career.

CBC returns to AMC play this weekend when they head to Hannibal, Mo., for a doubleheader against the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange. First pitch is scheduled for noon on Friday.
