Mustangs Drop Finale To Missouri Baptist

St. Louis, Mo. – Trying to salvage a game, Central Baptist College baseball wrapped up their American Midwest Conference series with the #10 Spartans of Missouri Baptist this afternoon at Spartan Field. CBC (14-19, 3-6 AMC) led early but couldn't hold the lead, falling to MBU (26-4, 8-1) 4-3.
The Mustangs took the lead on a passed ball in the first inning and made it 2-0 in the second on a double by Luke McBride. Missouri Baptist would take a 3-2 lead with three runs in the third before CBC tied the game in the fifth on an RBI single by Jaxon Kirkhuff. MBU retook the lead in the fifth and held the lead from there. Kirkhuff and Steven Stewart both had two hits and Angel Maldonado finished the game with three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four.
CBC continues their current seven game road trip on Tuesday when they take on Crowley's Ridge in Paragould. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
