St. Louis, Mo. – On the road for the first time since Match 20, Central Baptist College baseball took on the #10 Spartans of Missouri Baptist this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference doubleheader at Spartan Field. CBC (14-18, 3-5 AMC) couldn't hold down the MBU (25-4, 7-1 AMC) offense, falling by scores of 10-1 and 13-8.
GAME ONE – #10 MISSOURI BAPTIST 10, CBC 1 (FINAL-SEVEN INNINGS)
MBU jumped out to a big lead quickly, scoring one in the first, five in the second and two in the fourth to lead 8-0 after four. CBC's lone run came on a wild pitch in the sixth and MBU tacked on two more in the bottom half to bring the score final. Jaxon Kirkhuff and Steven Stewart both had two hits, with one of Kirkhuff's being a triple.
GAME TWO - #10 MISSOURI BAPTIST 13, CBC 8
MBU jumped on top in the first inning of game two as well, scoring four in the first to lead 4-0 after one. A wild pitch chased home Kyle Bass, who had three hits, to make it 4-1 in the second. MBU would add one in the second and six in the fourth to lead 11-1 after four. Stewart would bring in a run with a ground out in the fifth to make it 11-2 and Bass single to drive in two and make it 11-4. MBU would tack on two in the fifth to make it 13-4 and CBC made it interesting in the final two innings, pushing across a run in the eight on a fielder's choice before scoring three in the ninth on a wild pitch, an RBI single by Luke McBride and an error.
