North Little Rock, Ark. – Playing their final midweek game before the start of American Midwest Conference play, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge this afternoon in a nine-inning contest at DeSalvo Memorial Stadium. CBC (11-11) pounded out 14 hits and ended the game early, beating CRC (4-10) 10-0 in eight innings.

Nick Aide was the star at the plate, going 4-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Christian Zincke and Caleb Sollars combined on a two-hit shutout, which gave the Mustangs five on the season, their most since 2017. Additionally, CBC scored at least 10 runs in a shutout for the 16th time in program history and they moved to 42-9 all-time against the Pioneers.

The Mustangs jumped out to a lead early, scoring four runs in the second inning to lead 4-0 after two. A.J. Serrano continued his torrid stretch at the plate with an RBI single to start the scoring, then back-to-back RBI groundouts from Ruben Hernandez and Luke McBride made it 3-0 before Steven Stewart singled in Aide to make it 4-0. Serrano added a run on a single in the third and the score would stay 5-0 until the sixth, when Gabe Walker drove in Aide with a single to make it 6-0. CBC ended the game quickly in the eighth on a single by Aide, a double by Stewart and a two-run walk-off single by Cey Barkume to finish the scoring. Zincke pitched the first seven innings and allowed only one hit while walking three and striking out six. Sollar pitched the eighth and allowed a hit with a strikeout.

CBC opens AMC play this weekend with a trip to Williams Baptist. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at noon.
