Little Rock, Ark. – With a conflict on their home field at Burns Park, Central Baptist College baseball hosted a doubleheader against Ecclesia this afternoon on Comets Field on the campus of Wilbur D. Mills Middle School. CBC (9-10) swept the doubleheader, scoring 24 runs and pounding out 24 hits to crush EC (6-13).

GAME ONE – CBC 9, ECCLESIA 0
Mustang starter Angel Maldonado, making just his second start this season, was in control from the start, getting around a one out single in the first to keep Ecclesia off the board. The Mustangs failed to score in the first but broke the game open in the second. A.J. Serrano started the scoring with a sac fly to score Gage Harris and an RBI single from Ruben Hernandez two batters later chased home Austin Teal and made it 2-0. Nick Aide finished the scoring in the second with a three-run blast to left field, his first of the year, to make it 5-0 after two. A home run from Serrano made it 6-0 in the third and the Mustangs weren't done yet. In the sixth, Steven Stewart smashed his first home run of the season to left field to make it 7-0 before Gabe Walker scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-0 and Teal singled in Harris to wrap up the scoring. Maldonado was the winner, going six innings and allowing just four hits and two walks with three strikeouts to get his first victory as a Mustang. Ben Slate pitched a perfect seventh, striking out one.
GAME TWO – CBC 15, ECCLESIA 3
Neither team scored in the first inning of game two and CBC blew the game open in the second again. Ruben Hernandez brought in a run with a single and another run scored on an error to make it 2-0, which was followed by a Nick Aide single to make it 4-0 after two. A home run from Gabe Walker, his fourth of the year, to lead off the third would make it 4-0 and the Mustangs pushed across four more in the inning as well on a wild pitch, an RBI single by A.J.
