Baseball Swept By Baptist Bible

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Ozark, Mo. – With weather playing a factor in scheduling again, Central Baptist College baseball traveled today to take on the Patriots of Baptist Bible College in a doubleheader. CBC (5-10) dropped both ends of the doubleheader to BBC (9-7).

GAME ONE – BAPTIST BIBLE 4, CBC 0

CBC only mustered three hits against BBC starter Jackson Vestal. The Patriots scored a run in the second, two in the fourth and one in the sixth to beat CBC for the first time in five meetings.

GAME TWO – BAPTIST BIBLE 5, CBC 3

The Mustangs got on the board first in game two, scoring twice in the second inning on a single by Cameron Harden and a bases loaded hit by pitch to Ruben Hernandez. Baptist Bible cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second before A.J. Serrano singled home a run in the fourth to stretch the lead to 3-1. Baptist Bible, however, would get four in the bottom of the fourth and would hold on from there. Harden recorded his first hit and RBI as a Mustang and Gram Middleton had a stellar relief outing, allowing just three hits and one unearned run in two-and-two-thirds innings with three strikeouts.

UP NEXT

CBC will be back home for their next six games, beginning with a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon against new program Philander Smith. First pitch from Burns Park is slated for noon.
