Baseball Drops Doubleheader To SAGU

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Waxahachie, Texas – After having to move their series from Conway, and shortening it by one game, Central Baptist College baseball was at SAGU Field today for a doubleheader against the Lions of Southwestern Assemblies of God University. CBC (5-8) didn't muster much offense, falling to SAGU (12-5) 13-1 and 4-2.

GAME ONE – SAGU 13, CBC 1 (SEVEN INNINGS)

SAGU put game one away quickly, scoring three in the first and eight in the second to lead 11-0 after two. CBC's lone run came on an RBI double by Austin Teal, who plated Kyle Bass, to make it 11-1 and SAGU added additional runs in the third and fifth for the final score.

GAME TWO – SAGU 4, CBC 2

CBC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two when Luke McBride singled home Steven Stewart. SAGU would take the lead in the bottom half, 2-1, and tack on two more runs in the sixth before a wild pitch brought home Teal for CBC's second run of the game. Mason Sellers was good in relief, throwing two-and-two-thirds innings, allowing only one hit.
